Extreme E has today agreed a three-year broadcast partnership with FOX SPORTS Australia, the leading southern hemisphere sports broadcaster.

The news is the latest in a string of TV agreements announced between Extreme E and FOX SPORTS, encompassing the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Southeast Asia – each covering the first three years of Extreme E.

Extreme E’s partnership with FOX SPORTS Australia will ensure that the action from Season 1, which gets underway in January 2021, is available to Australian subscibers across the Foxtel and Kayo Sports platforms from ‘lights-out’ in race one.

Ali Russell, Chief Marketing Officer at Extreme E, said: “I’m proud to announce that we have signed terms with FOX SPORTS Australia on a comprehensive long-term broadcast package. The agreement will mean that Australian audiences have access to a unique, innovative championship that will break the mould in sport.”

Extreme E will see world-class drivers and teams competing across a five-race odyssey to some of the most remarkable, remote locations on the planet – Mountain, Glacier, Amazon Rainforest, Desert and Coastal arenas – highlighting the impact of human interference and climate change while raising awareness and inspiring action.

Russell adds: “FOX SPORTS Australia’s commitment to showcase the series demonstrates large-scale awareness for the issues plighting the vulnerable areas across our planet that have been selected for the series.”

FOX SPORTS Australia Head of Acqusitions, Adam Howarth, said: “Extreme E will be an exciting addition to our compelling motosport offering, including Supercars, Formula 1, MotoGP, Superbikes and Formula E, for Foxtel and Kayo Sports subscribers. This is a unique format which will ensure some spectacular racing in all-electric SUVs at some equally spectacular and extreme locations, whilst also putting the spotlight on an important social issue.”

The championship will continue to announce drivers, teams and partners over the coming weeks as it takes shape ahead of Season 1, starting January 2021.
