Extreme E and Aurora Media Worldwide finalists in recognition of two Outstanding Production SVG Awards

Pioneering off-road electric series, Extreme E, alongside its host broadcast agency Aurora Media Worldwide, is delighted to be shortlisted for two prestigious production SVG (Sports Video Group) awards. This time, the duo are finalists in both finalist line-ups: Outstanding Production Achievement (Innovation) and Outstanding Production (Event).

The finalist selection includes contenders from the highest echelons of the global sports industry and honours the outstanding companies, teams and individuals that have pushed broadcasting and production forward with the 2021 calendar year. The judges look to reward those that have led by example, taken risks, overcome the challenges and achieved results that contribute to the success of the industry.

Ali Russell, Chief Marketing Officer at Extreme E, said: “To be shortlisted for yet more honours and in these two categories by SVG is huge for both ourselves and for our host broadcast agency Aurora Media Worldwide - we are beyond delighted to have reached the list of finalists.

“Working with Aurora Media Worldwide is a joy – they are a trusted leader in broadcasting, and they do the most awe-inspiring job of bringing our unique motorsport adventure and our incredible locations to life in ways never seen before in this sport. The places where Extreme E races are themselves remote and logistically highly challenging, so to produce such slick, entertaining and educational coverage both on event as well as the magnitude of programming from behind the scenes, is hugely impressive.”

Matt Beal, Head of Content & Executive Producer of Extreme E at Aurora Media Worldwide, said: "The scorching heat and water shortages around Europe, sadly tell us that Climate Change is already here. Extreme E has harnessed the power of motorsport to tell these fragile stories and accelerate the development of technologies that can help to drive change.

To have been nominated in these categories for the SVG Awards is humbling, it is testament to the hard work, innovative thinking and pioneering spirit of all those involved.

Extreme E, by nature is a challenging project, but it’s also highly rewarding. Our collaborative approach with the Extreme E team and shared passion we have with our highly skilled and knowledgeable partners (NEP, Al Kamel Systems, Interstate Creative Partners), we have been able to build a groundbreaking, technically innovative and visual broadcast, that is distributed around the world."
