Extreme E has today announced that FOX Sports, one of the world’s largest sports media companies, has signed a multi-year deal with the ground-breaking new electric SUV off-road racing series.
The championship, set to revolutionise motorsport and entertainment, will see E-SUVs racing head-to-head in some of the world’s most remote and extreme environments that have been damaged by climate change, whilst raising awareness and inspiring action.
Extreme E’s five-race global voyage, starting with Season 1 in early 2021, will be screened across the United States, Canada and the Caribbean on FS1, FS2 and the FOX Sports app for each of its first three campaigns.
Ali Russell, Media & Business Development Director at Formula E - operating partner of Extreme E - said: “We’re proud and delighted to announce this major partnership between FOX Sports and Extreme E for the new series’ opening three seasons.
“The deal is a major commitment by a sports broadcasting powerhouse - one that will bring the championship to millions of households, and ensure that viewers across North America and the Caribbean will receive the very best live coverage of Extreme E right from its inception.”
“FOX Sports is excited to add Extreme E to its programming lineup in 2021,” said Bill Wanger, FOX Sports EVP and Head of Programming. “Extreme racing in extreme environments, all using the latest electric technology makes for inviting programming across multiple audiences.”
The next important Extreme E update is the unveiling of the specially-designed E-SUV, which will be launched for the first time at Goodwood Festival of Speed at 11am tomorrow, 5 July.
