Christine GZ returns as Championship Driver for Season 3 finale
It is a welcome return to the series for GZ, who has raced in Extreme E in each season since the championship launched in 2021.
GZ competed for Carl Cox Motorsport earlier this year, securing her first ever podium finish at the Hydro X Prix in Scotland, marking the team’s maiden top-three result in the process.
Prior to GZ’s two X Prix for Carl Cox Motorsport, she raced for XITE Energy Racing in the championship’s debut season before taking part in four events for Veloce Racing in 2022.
After departing Veloce Racing, GZ also made a one-off appearance as Extreme E Championship Driver in the Uruguay Natural Energy X Prix last term.
GZ will return to the role of Championship Driver alongside O’Donovan, who recently made his FIA World Rallycross Championship debut in Hong Kong, securing a podium finish in his maiden event in the series.
Christine GZ, Extreme E Championship Driver, said: “I am delighted to be back in the Extreme E paddock once again. It all feels so familiar, like one big family, and I am really excited to get back behind the wheel of the ODYSSEY 21 for the season finale.
“It is a great championship to be a part of, and having carried out the role of Championship Driver previously I am delighted to do so once more.
“The course in Chile is one of the most exciting on the Extreme E calendar, so I am eager to jump back in and work alongside Patrick to help deliver one of the best events yet!”
The crowning of the 2023 champions will be live across ITV and STV in the UK, while outside of the UK please visit here for broadcaster details.
