Sébastien Loeb returns to Extreme E with ABT CUPRA XE
The nine-time World Rally Champion will partner Klara Andersson once again, replacing Nasser Al-Attiyah. Loeb took part in the Island X Prix for ABT CUPRA XE in July, his first Extreme E appearance since winning the Extreme E Season 2 title with Sir Lewis Hamilton’s X44 Vida Carbon Racing last term, finishing fourth and sixth place, respectively, on the Italian island.
Sébastien Loeb, ABT CUPRA XE, said: “It’s great to be back in Sardinia with ABT and CUPRA for two more races. I’m really looking forward to meeting Klara and the team again, because I have very good memories of the last time.
"We didn’t get the results we expected and probably deserved, so we’ll do our best to do better this time.”

Thomas Biermaier, ABT CEO and Team Principal, added: “We are very happy that Seb is part of our team again.
“We are all having great fun working together, but at the same time it also feels a bit like ‘Unfinished Business’, because Klara and Seb were clearly among the candidates for victory in July with their strong performances. Now they get a second chance in the new edition in Sardinia, which they are determined to make the most of.”
The Frenchman is a multiple winner in Extreme E with two X Prix victories, as well as six podiums and six top qualifier finishes.
You can see how Loeb and Andersson fare when the series returns to Sardinia on 16-17 September. The racing action can be viewed on ITV in the UK across the weekend. Outside of the UK, please visit here for broadcaster details.
