Chile's Canal 13 extends broadcast partnership with Extreme E

Extreme E, the pioneering off-road electric racing championship, announced today that Chile's Canal 13 has renewed its broadcast partnership with the series, reinforcing its commitment to showcasing the spectacle to audiences far and wide.
This extension means that the Santiago-based commercial station will continue to deliver a comprehensive coverage package of Extreme E's action-packed races. Viewers can expect a line-up that includes live race feeds, insightful previews, captivating magazine shows, all accessible through the digital platform www.13.cl. The coverage will be presented in both English and Spanish, ensuring a broader reach and engagement.
With a track record of three exceptional seasons and its fourth instalment underway, Extreme E has captivated global audiences by staging races in some of the planet's most remote and environmentally impacted locations. By selecting venues affected by climate change, from the Atacama Desert to the Arctic, the championship aims to spark increased awareness and interest in pressing environmental issues among its viewers.
Central to the championship's ethos is its unique viewing format. Races are staged without live spectators and instead broadcasted as two-hour programmes, a strategic move to minimise the championship's carbon footprint. Additionally, race equipment is transported via sea on the floating centrepiece, St. Helena. Canal 13 will also feature exclusive behind-the-scenes content focusing on environmental issues, further aligning with Extreme E's mission to promote awareness and action on environmental solutions.
Ali Russell, Managing Director, Extreme E, said: “I'm thrilled that we will continue to bring our sport-for-purpose series to Canal 13's digital audience in Chile. Our broadcast package has gained immense popularity since its inception, which is evident from our impressive audience numbers.
“With Canal 13 on our territories roster, we can continue to share not only the thrilling race action that Extreme E provides, but also the broader messages of our championship around electrification, environment and equality.”

NOTES TO EDITORS
About Extreme E:
Extreme E is a radical off-road racing series, founded by the same team behind Formula E, which showcases electric SUVs and futuristic technologies in some of the world’s most remote and challenging environments.
This five-event global voyage utilises its sporting platform for the purpose of promoting electrification, environment and equality. The series’ goal is to highlight the impact of climate change in some of the world’s most endangered environments, promote the adoption of electric vehicles to pave the way for a lower carbon future, and provide a world-first gender-equal motorsport platform.
The first sport to ever be built out of a social purpose, Extreme E aims to minimise environmental impact while maximising awareness, racing in places that have already been damaged or affected by climate change or human interference and taking fans deep into the heart of the most pressing issues facing our planet’s future.
Not only that, but Extreme E is also helping the car industry to develop future-facing technology using racing as a platform for road innovation, which accelerates change ten-fold.
In 2025, Extreme E will transition into Extreme H – the world’s first hydrogen off-road racing series – and will be recognised as an FIA Championship from 2025, as we continue to be a pioneer in motorsport.
